Our story begins with obedience. God began moving in the hearts of Pastor Gary and his wife Linda in the spring of 2015. They had served in their home church for over 30 years as Children’s Pastors and when asked if they would consider planting a church in Goodrich Michigan, neither of them felt led to pursue this. But God continued to nudge, and before they knew it they were down on State Road peeking through windows.
God began to give them a distinct call and fill their hearts with excitement that only God could do. God began to move and send the people needed to make this a Christ centered Church a family.
Family Community held their first service on September 13, 2015. Over the past 8 years this small group has grown to over 300 in weekly attendance. Our vision has always been to welcome everyone and to allow God to change lives.
Our mission has been to love, serve, and grow. Love God, love people, and to grow daily in our walk with Christ..
When Jesus was asked, “which is the great commandment?" he responded.
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37-39
The best days of FamilyNaz are ahead of us and there’s a seat saved for you to be part of this incredible journey.
THIS IS THE AGREED STATEMENT OF BELIEF FOR THE CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE:
We believe in one God-the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.
We believe that man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually.
We believe that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.
We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.
We believe that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.
We believe that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.
