How it all started...
Our story is one of faith and obedience, rooted in a divine calling. In the spring of 2015, God began stirring the hearts of Pastor Gary and his wife, Linda, who had faithfully served as Children’s Pastors in their home church for over 30 years. When first approached about planting a church in Goodrich, Michigan, they hesitated, unsure if this was their path. Yet, God’s gentle nudge persisted, leading them to State Road, where they found themselves peering through windows, envisioning what could be.
With a clear call from God, their hearts overflowed with an excitement only He could ignite. God moved mightily, bringing together the people needed to build a Christ-centered church and a welcoming family. On September 13, 2015, Family Community Church held its first service. What began as a small gathering has flourished over the past eight years into a vibrant congregation of over 300 weekly attendees.
Our vision remains steadfast: to open our doors to everyone and create a space where God transforms lives. Our mission is simple yet profound—to love, serve, and grow. We strive to love God wholeheartedly, love people unconditionally, and grow daily in our walk with Christ.
When Jesus was asked, “Which is the greatest commandment?” He replied:
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

These initiatives provide not only practical help but also opportunities to build meaningful connections, fostering a sense of family and belonging.
In 2025, our vision expanded to global missions, beginning with a transformative outreach to El Salvador. This international effort focuses on delivering essential resources, sharing the Gospel, and partnering with local communities to create sustainable change. From providing green houses for food consumption and educational support to offering spiritual encouragement, our global missions reflect our commitment to serve wherever God calls us.
